WEST DES MOINES, Iowa--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Motor vehicle accidents are the leading cause of death for drivers age 15 to 19, and many of these accidents are preventable. The National Safety Council’s “Teen Driving Safety Week,” June 12-19, is an ideal time to talk to teens about their driving habits. To make these conversations easier, Farm Bureau Financial Services developed the Driveology™ program and offers an auto insurance discount to teens that complete it and qualify for the discount.

It also qualifies participants to receive a discount on insurance by working with their Farm Bureau Financial Services agent to review the program, watch a driving safety video, log 30 hours of supervised driving and sign the Safe Driver Pledge. The pledge highlights a commitment to avoid reckless and distracted driving. It also allows parents to clearly state consequences, and holds them accountable for enforcing rules and guidelines, and being a role model to their teenage drivers.
